Back in March, when we really thought we were knocked up, Dave and I were so giddy and silly about it. But it was short lived. Even though I now that I had 3 tests all saying pregnant giving the green light for giddy and silly, we were cautious about celebrating just yet. We had learned from our experience before that those tests can be misleading.
With my appointment set for October 14th for my first visit to the preggers check-up, we had a long time to wait before we found out anything for sure. Then a familiar visitor came a knockin on our door; Aunt Flo.
Dave and I were calm about it. No big deal. We've been through this before. We really were not going to start trying until next month. We're cool if I'm not pregnant again. So I call Kaiser to let them know what is going on.
Back in March when we had done this all before, the nurse on the phone was not helpful and blew me off completely. "Well take another test and if it says you're pregnant, then you're pregnant, if not then you're not." Wow, good thing this lady had so much training. This stuff is like rocket science. When I called this time, the nurse was very sweet and kind. Saying things like, "Well, if your still having symptoms please do give us a call tomorrow, we want to make sure you and your baby are ok, promise you'll call tomorrow, ok?"
Next day, same "symptoms" so I call Kaiser. I waited until Dave left for yoga. He takes this whole pregnant, not pregnant very seriously whereas I'm just grooving with what ever happens, happens. This time the nurse has a very serious tone and says, I think you should go to the emergency room.
Emergency Room?!
Whoa. Who said anything about an emergency? I just said Aunt Flo is here and tests keep saying pregnant. Whats the big deal?

... or so we thought
Back in March when I started this blog, we thought we were pregnant. As it turns out, when I took that 3rd test we found out that we were in fact ... not. Many people, upon finding out this news are very disappointed. Since we were not yet trying at the time to get preggers, we felt fine about it. Also, only two people knew about it so we didn't have to tell the story over and over again making it traumatic for us. In fact, it just gave me the green light to drink a bunch of champagne and sushi without worry!
That sounds terrible.
But hey, I love champagne ... and sushi. So that's what I did until August. Drink champagne and eat sushi, while also taking some prenatal vitamins to get my body into tip-top, pre-preggers condition when the time came around that we actually wanted to get knocked up: September was the month we were shooting for.
Mother nature is on schedule for no one. While waiting for Aunt Flo to pay me a visit in September so that I could figure out my fertile mertle day (peek ovulation), time seemed to go quite slow. So slow, in fact, that Auntie was late. In my mind, I was thinking that it was a good thing I slowed down the drinking in August. So I got a test, peed on it and it was saying pregnant. Since I had been through this before, I blew it off and thought that it wasn't right.
I took another one a few days later, Aunt Flo still late, again pregnant.
A few days after that, with the 3rd test in hand I'm thinking, "if this one says pregnant, I'm calling Kaiser." Two lines once again.
